The build
A calm expense and invoice ledger for freelancers. Fully usable with the radio off; sync is a convenience, never a requirement.
Ledgerleaf is built around one constraint: every feature must work with no network. Entry, categorisation, VAT summaries and PDF invoice export all run on device against SQLite. Sync is a last-write-wins merge over a small change feed, and the app never blocks on it.
Because the data is financial, the migration story got more attention than the UI. Schema changes ship with forward and backward migrations and a shadow-read check that runs against a copy of the user database before anything is written.
It is our highest-rated listing at 4.8, and the reviews are mostly about speed and the absence of an account wall — you can use it for a year without registering.
